Last Wednesday, December 17th, Bellver Blue Tech Zone hosted 112 attendees for a sensory experience where the ocean took center stage through immersive digital art. The arrival of The Rhythm of the Ocean Vortex solidified this Benicàssim venue as a leading national center for contemporary digital art.

The artwork was presented in Vortex, a 360º room equipped with cutting-edge immersive technology that envelops the viewer in a complete visual and auditory environment. Specifically adapted for this space, the experience offered a profound and sensory journey guided by the hypnotic rhythm of the ocean.

"Studio spaces like Vortex are popping up around the world and helping to break down the barriers that traditionally separate the artwork from the public. Not only that, but the fact that it's cylindrical allows artists to play with the viewer's perspective and transport them to another place."

Conceived by the visual studio Desilence and accompanied by the music of electronic pioneer Suzanne Ciani, the piece was curated by Antònia Folguera, a leading figure in the field of art and digital culture.

In addition to the immersive projection, attendees enjoyed a presentation featuring the artists, the curator, and Pablo García, a scientist from the Fundación Azul Marino at Bellver Blue Tech Zone. The discussion delved into the creative process behind the work and the dialogue between art, technology, and science, reinforcing the connection between artistic creation and scientific knowledge of the marine environment.

This experience was complemented by a tour of the Fundación Azul Marino facilities, where experts from the center provided detailed explanations of the research, conservation, and outreach projects carried out at Bellver Blue Tech Zone.

With The Rhythm of the Ocean Vortex, Bellver Blue Tech Zone not only hosted a work, but became an active part of it, reaffirming its vocation as a space for the most innovative proposals of current digital art.
